Academic Qualifications Required:
- BCom degree with completed SAICA articles.
- CTA or CA(SA) qualification (advantageous).
Experience:
- Completed SAICA articles with an auditing background.
Computer Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Caseware and Caseware Audit International.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (advantageous for reporting purposes).
- Familiarity with Greatsoft (advantageous).
Skills, Competencies, and Experience Required:
- Strong communication, organizational, time-management, and training skills.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, multi-tasking, and interpersonal relations.
- Extensive background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of independent reviews, IAS, IFRS, ISA, and the SAICA, IRBA, and IESBA Code of Professional Conduct.
- Knowledge of SAICA & IRBA Continuing Professional Development Policies.
- Familiarity with ISQM 1 and ISQM 2 and SAAPS, especially SAAPS 3.
- High attention to detail and policy drafting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uphold and manage quality standards across all departments.
- Assist in establishing, maintaining, and improving the firm's quality management system.
- Identify and mitigate additional quality risks.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement remedial action plans.
- Monitor ISQM compliance and perform engagement/internal quality reviews.
- Review high-risk engagement files and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist with internal and external network reporting requirements.
- Perform quality checks on IRBA fee declaration documents.
- Draft and update policies, prepare working paper templates, and maintain quality registers.
- Guide the process for retention and assembly of engagement files.
- Monitor and track reportable irregularities submission and timeframes.
- Manage the firm's System of Quality Management and Forms on the Intranet.
- Assist with training, content preparation, and CPD monitoring.
- Stay updated on new developments, technical updates, and legislation changes.
- Support the audit or independent review department as needed.
Ambassador Responsibilities:
- Serve as the interactive contact with the Global Team.
- Manage communication and updates on the Global Portal.
- Encourage colleagues to engage with the Hub platform.
- Provide feedback and support for Ambassador initiatives.
FICA Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure FICA compliance and employee awareness of reporting requirements.
- Report irregularities and maintain required documentation.
- Submit required documentation and report activities to the FIC site.
Reporting Requirements:
- Benchmarking, reporting on statistics, and providing requested information.
- Fee calculation, maintaining submission of statistical reports.
Work Complexity:
- Guidance provided by the quality consultant.
Level of Independence:
- A high level of independence is expected.
