Lead and develop the program delivery function within the Information Services division by leading the implementation of strategic initiatives and embedding a culture of continuous improvement through the delivery teams while meeting client needs and expectations.
Results Delivery
- Lead and direct concurrent standard to complex projects directed towards a common objective of delivering IS strategy 2026.
- Co-ordinate all aspects of in-progress IS Strategy projects, from inception to installation, while partnering with JSE business, technical, clients, and external vendors.
- Work closely with IS Strategy and other IS business leads to understand the backlog initiatives and prepare for implementation. This means engaging with stakeholders to deliver projects from original concept through to its final implementation.
- Ensure the programme delivers solutions as committed, while remaining within the baseline budget and is delivered on time whilst maintaining quality criteria and client satisfaction.
- Monitor monthly opex and capex spend, and consolidate a holistic program view for management - includes deep understanding of resources on the ground and those planned.
- Prepare and consolidate annual forecast per project and overall programme, as well as understanding variances.
- Lead discussions on one-off costs requests and motivate with management, as well as opportunities to optimize future costs.
- Prepare monthly reports for Sponsor sessions, APMO, and Exco reporting.
- Manage the delivery of the IS strategy program, including rigorous scope control and change management.
- Plan and lead the execution of strategic data initiatives.
- Establish relevant Agile ceremonies and facilitate ceremonies throughout the execution of data strategy initiatives, while ensuring the integration and alignment of agile frameworks and methodologies.
- Facilitate resolution of issues and blockers that will prevent the team from achieving iteration deliverables.
- Facilitate prioritization of backlog items with the team and Product Owners deliverables.
- Co-ordinate dependencies between projects, activate engagements between projects and develop a plan that ensures achievement of complex, multi-team tasks.
- Ensure that teams adhere to monthly budgets.
- Develop insights across teams, identify opportunities for new concepts or efficiencies and communicate to management so that the innovation can be harnessed.
- Keep management informed on the status of all initiatives that are in-progress, as well as critical issues that may impact delivery.
- Work with IS Strategy to research and analyze new concepts or backlog projects, and engage with management to identify scope and implementation process for new projects.
- Utilize data and metrics to identify bottlenecks in the system, dependencies and drive improvements.
- Monthly reporting of delivered initiatives compared to the planned scope, to Sponsor, APMO, and Exco where necessary.
- Deep understanding of and ability to escalate and communicate bottlenecks and provide options that have been discussed with the necessary teams for resolution.
- Documentation and management of risks and issues.
- Work with IS Strategy to provide input to documentation to Exco, JSE Group Board, and new concept papers.
- Motivate project teams, gain commitment and buy-in to deliver to expectations, ensure successes are communicated and celebrated.
- Contribute to crafting of project plans to ensure delivery of focus areas for the year in support of the information services department strategy.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Enable and champion a delivery culture, promoting ongoing innovation to improve revenue potential of the Information Services business, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, co-ordinate and direct multiple delivery teams.
- Build strategic JSE / Industry/ Global network of thought leaders and relationships utilizing social media, attending and presenting at conferences and training interventions.
