Senior Quantity Surveyor
One of the largest rock boring and drilling services providers in the world, operating across the African continent, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of the Role
- The Senior Quantity Surveyor manages all costs relating to projects, from the initial calculations and pre-feasibility to the final agreement and final account statement.
- Senior Quantity Surveyors seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality, which are specified by statutory building regulations that the quantity surveyor needs to understand and adhere to.
- A Senior Quantity Surveyor is involved in various projects from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work.
- When the project is in progress, the Senior Quantity Surveyor keeps track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and creates reports to show profitability.

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, or a related Degree.
- 5-10 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor in the mining industry.
- Required to travel for operational site visits (locally and abroad).
- Mine Health and Safety checks completed (medicals, mine induction, etc).
- This role is subject to police and credit clearance.
- Proficiency in MS Projects (Microsoft Office).
- Experience with CCS Candy or Primavera.
- Project Management skills.
- Data Analytics (comfortable working with digital platforms).
