Our established client in the manufacturing business is urgently seeking an HR/Payroll Officer to join their dynamic team
HR Administration
- Provide ongoing advice and support to employees and leaders on company HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Process, verify, and maintain documentation related to employee activities, including training, grievances, disciplinary hearings, and performance reviews.
- Assist in the the Generation of employment offers, contracts, annexures, training contracts, confirmation of employment, internal transfers, and promotion letters.
- Ensure new employees receive and return their starter packs, including all necessary documentation, within agreed timelines.
- Manage all HR-related administration, ensuring electronic processing and accurate, timely filing of employee records.
- Record minutes for various HR-related meetings.
- Compile and submit monthly HR statistics and progress reports.
- Prepare month-end headcount reports.
- Handle ad hoc administrative tasks and assignments to support HR management.
- Lead and manage a structured recruitment process for interns each financial year, ensuring alignment with BEE requirements and business strategy
- Build and maintain relationships with tertiary institutions and third parties to source high-calibre candidates
- Screen CVs and manage pre-screening interviews.
- Draft internship and SETA agreements within specified timelines.
- Maintain a database of candidate information and track intern absorption, both internally and externally.
- Coordinate annual career fairs to build a potential candidate database and develop relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to BBBEE legislation and Codes of Good Practice.
- Monitor and report on progress against transformation and sustainability plans and prepare the organization for external verification.
- Ensure all new benefit applications are completed and signed before submission to Discovery, AFRF, and SATU.
- Maintain strong relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with Employment Equity and Skills Development.
- Facilitate employee engagement focus group discussions and develop action plans to address focus areas
- Organize events aligned with the employee wellness calendar.
Payroll
- Complete and submit all new engagement documentation to payroll before the cut-off date.
- Sage 300
- Process access requirements for new employees.
- Ensure timely payroll submissions.
Maintenance of Employee Files
- Maintain accurate and updated information in both digital and hard copy employee files.
Knowledge and Qualification:
Experience:
- 3-5 years of HR and Payroll experience.
- Experience in payroll administration and processing.
- Experience in the manufacturing is advantageous.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Proficiency in time and attendance and payroll systems.
- Ability to interview and assess candidate suitability.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask, manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
