Introduction
SPAR Lowveld, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd., is recruiting for a Human Resources Controller at its Distribution Centre, located in Nelspruit. To provide an HR generalist advisory service and support to Line Management and Staff. The successful incumbent will be responsible for successfully executing key HR deliverables.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS - Provide HR generalist advisory and operational service to line management.
- Co-ordinate Employment Equity (EE) meetings and compilation of EE reports.
- Facilitate recruitment and selection, induction, and on-boarding processes, in line with company policies.
- Promoting employee engagement, by facilitating culture/values, continuous improvement, team development and staff empowerment interventions.
- Co-ordinating culture initiatives, and Corporate Social Investment initiatives.
- Advise and partner with line management in driving performance management processes.
- Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Employee relations – manage the operational implementation of the company code of conduct, maintain open/regular communication with key stakeholders, represent the company at CCMA conciliations/arbitrations, and provide IR-related guidance to line management & employees.
- Handling and resolving staff HR-related enquiries.
- Participate in HR and ad hoc projects and assist in performing other related functions as requested by management.
- Capturing employees onto HR systems e.g. SAGE 300 People system, including uploading relevant documents and creating new employee files.
- Provide HR and Performance Management Reports and statistics from time to time.
- Monitor Performance Management and provide reports from time to time.
- HR Systems/Records administration.
Minimum Requirements: - Matric and tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management.
- General computer skills: MS Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Human Resources role, ideally in a retail environment.
- Alignment with SPAR values – Passion, Family, Entrepreneurship.
- Good working knowledge of SA Labour legislation.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Good facilitation and presentation skills.
- Sound leadership and people skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work weekends/after hours to meet business objectives when necessary.
- Planning and organising skills; self-driven/takes initiatives; and dependable individual.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
