Education and Experience:
- Must have grade 12.
- Artisan by trade as qualified auto electrician with 5 years truck and trailer experience in UD, Quan, and Mercedes Trucks.
- Reading and installation on wiring diagrams.
- Own transport essential.
- Code C license.
- Must have advanced experience in electrical work and fault finding on trucks and trailers.
- Must be able to repair and rewire harnesses.
- Own tools essential.
- Two contactable references and clear criminal record.
Job Specification:
- Repair and rewiring of trucks and trailers.
- Computer literate to reprogram and adjust trailer modulators.
- Downloading and fault finding on trucks and resetting of vehicles.
- Ensure that the safety SOP is adhered to when a breakdown is attended, minimizing the risk of accidents for client vehicles.
- Adhere to breakdown safety protocols.
- Apply SHEQ rules and regulations as prescribed by company policy and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.
- Housekeeping and health and safety needs to apply.
- Administrate and report regularly to management regarding breakdowns, repairs, and services.
- Ensure job cards are completed as per company policy and procedures.
- Perform ancillary duties as determined by management on an ongoing basis. Ensure company breakdown vehicles are clean, inspected, and log sheets with breakdown register are completed on all shifts.
