Role Definition
Under minimal supervision performs accounting duties of moderate complexity.
Responsibilities
- Reconciling leasing or other systems to the general ledger
- Mapping and setting up general ledger accounts; preparing moderately complex reconciliations
- Preparing reports
- Researching, clearing, and communicating booking or posting errors to the appropriate parties
- Conducting or assisting in the documentation of accounting projects
- preparing or assisting in the preparation of accounting reports and year-end activities.
- Some latitude for unreviewed decisions is within the scope of delegated authority.
- When inconsistencies or problems occur which are outside delegated authority, they are brought to the attention of management.
- Confers with management to determine the proper means by which to resolve these issues.
- Applies knowledge of advanced accounting methods and procedures.
- May coordinate and review lower-level accounting work assignments for accuracy and completeness.
- Understands the established continuous improvement objectives for the department.
- Measures progress toward the continuous improvement standards and ensure that the necessary measurements are maintained.
- Participates in the resolution of any identified problems.
- Analyses data and makes all business decisions based on such analysis.
- Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: - Ability to seek out relevant information.
- Ability to apply math computation skills including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as statistics and other mathematical concepts used in modeling.
- Knowledge of accounting distribution and ability to verify the correctness and completeness of such information.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and FASB regulations and procedures as they relate to the area of accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
- Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of accounting systems/ERP systems
- Ability to complete investigation on reconciling items.
- Ability to Multi task

- Dedicated to meeting deadlines
Education/Experience: - A 4-year university degree or equivalent diploma, preferably in accounting, is recommended.
- 1-3 years financial accounting experience
- Capture invoices
- Bank allocations and reallocation
- Month-end experience would be advantageous
- Preparing simple month-end journals
- Preparing bank reconciliations and investigating and solving reconciling items
- Loading payments onto the online banking profile
Additional Information - Hybrid role will be required to be in the office 3 times a week.
- 1 year fixed term contract
