Intermediate Technician Smallworld Data Capturer – Telecommunications

Immediate commencement of consultant required urgently.
Brief overview of job functions:
- Capturing and maintaining as-built information accurately and timeously; performs quality check of information; liaise with relevant stakeholders to confirm updates; provides feedback to management.
- Review and interpret the drawings/plans specifying changes in records or as-built information.
- Provide input to system maintenance team (OSS/BSS) regarding system features requiring maintenance or enhancement; provide feedback to management.
- Ensure adequate control measures are in place to manage changes in versions of as-built that are captured on the system; ensure adherence to change management SOPs.
- Identify and raise risks with relevant risk management team regarding risks associated with records and mapping which would threaten business continuity.
Core Skills:
- Telecommunications infrastructure, civils, Fibre, broadband infrastructure, technical/engineering.
- At least 5+ years telecommunications industry experience in telecommunications as-built information management; records and mapping; experience with GE Smallworld.
- Ability to work under pressure in a critical technical environment.
- Experience in large project environments.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical issues.

National Diploma or related 3-year Industry Certification (NQF 6).

5 years’ relevant experience in the Fibre network industry specializing with GE Smallworld as a planning and data inventory tool.
