The IIE Varsity College, Pietermaritzburg Campus has a vacancy for a Lecturer (Part-Time) in the Faculty of Humanities for the following modules in the first and second semester of 2025:
- English 1A: Introduction to English Studies _ENGL5121
- English 1B: Introduction to English Studies _ENGL6122
- English 2A: South African Literature _ENGL6221
- English 2B: Postcolonialism _ENGL6222
Competencies Required: - Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Assertiveness and dynamism
- Understanding of customer service in education
- Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively
Minimum Education Requirements: - Honours degree in English
Alternatively:
- BA degree with English as a major to third year (NQF level 7) PLUS a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching with English as a didactic subject.
Minimum Experience Requirements: - Teaching/Lecturing experience in English is required.
- Previous lecturing experience within a tertiary environment is advantageous. Ideally, work experience in publishing, editing, writing, etc.
