REGIONAL HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGER
INLAND NORTH REGION - ROBERTVILLE
A Regional Human Capital Manager is required for the above region, reporting to the Regional Executive and Group Human Capital Executive. The purpose of this position is to ensure effective human resource management, covering the following key areas: Human resources, Recruitment, Industrial relations, Personnel administration. The Inland North Region comprises two Regional Offices and several large branches, with a staff complement of 14,000 employees.
Qualifications, experience and other competencies required:
- Grade 12/Matric Certificate
- BCom bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Human Resource Management (Min 3 years qualification).
- 5+ years of experience in a senior human resources management role, with main emphasis in the security industry.
- 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations.
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Exceptional people skills, dealing with employees at all levels within the company.
- Very good communication skills.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Word, Excel (advanced formulas).
- Knowledge and experience in ISO quality management system.
- Preferably candidates should reside in the greater West Rand/Johannesburg area.
- Should be able to work independently and professionally.
- Strong organizational, planning, communication and client liaison skills are essential.
- Travelling will be required; therefore, applicants should have their own transport and valid driver’s license.
- No criminal record.
- Must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and public holidays as and when required.

Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Enhancing the Inland North Region’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and Group Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Supporting Branch Management and Departmental Heads by establishing manpower requirements, recruiting, vetting, and interviewing in line with Group Recruitment Policy.
- Chairing the Region’s Quarterly Employment Equity meetings and maintaining the committee.
- Onboarding new employees by conducting orientation and induction programs.
- Conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
- Ensuring planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management meetings with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees.
- Member of the Group Employee Benefits Committee, informing employees of benefits by assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; assisting in the processing of benefit claims for BCEA employees regarding Death and Disability claims.
- Ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the company at hearings, CCMA and Labour Court cases (where applicable).
- Maintaining and continuously updating historical human resource records of past and current employee records.
- Cultivating professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Completing human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
- Managing a human resource team of 11 staff members in the Gauteng region, Pretoria and Polokwane as part of the Inland North Region.
- Advancing human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Consulting with top executives on strategic planning to ensure Client requirements are met.
- Attending to and resolving all pay queries or other inquiries submitted to Executives and the Chief Operations Officer.
- Investigating incidents of misconduct/fraud reported to the HR Department.
- Attending several major Client meetings as requested by Executives and Operational Management.
- Involvement with Gautrain contract as per below:
- Planning manpower shortages well in advance.
- Liaising with Training Department on the appointment of new recruits and training as per client specifications.
- Attending day and night shift parades as and when required.
- Liaising with Client Management and other external Security service Providers.
- Assisting with disciplinary action against Officers.
- Serving as a link between Client, Branch management, and Officers.
- Compiling monthly Human Capital report.
- Adhoc meetings with Shop Stewards from various Unions on concerns involving their members.
- Consulting with employees who wish to retire.
- Consulting with management and subordinates on work performance matters.
- Managing the ISO 9001 quality management system.
