Purpose Statement
To provide business-critical Securities Management and Administration insights into Business Bank’s Credit strategy and devise a Securities Management and Administration strategy and operating model that will enable and support significant scale and growth objectives for Business Bank Credit, including new industries and markets, wider and deeper expertise in new segments, and essential insights required on commercial and contract law.
To be accountable for departmental strategy, business planning, and optimal best practice performance through the development and application of frameworks, policies, procedures, standards, goals, and metrics in this department which is pivotal to enabling the principle of client experience first for Business Bank whilst approving pay-out and managing risk.
Support the collections and recoveries department with the timeous provision of the correct legal agreements and security documentation and be responsible for enabling the process of securities in case of deceased estates, insolvency, and liquidations.
Experience
- 10+ years of management experience in a senior role in a secured credit environment holding responsibility for leading a large organizational unit.
- Experience in successfully revolutionizing and transforming large teams and/or senior leadership in a significant transformation project.
- Proven experience of using influence and relationships to drive and achieve objectives.
- Experience in strategically leading, planning, and managing operations in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
- Ideally, proven experience in driving operational transformation.
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Honours Degree in Finance or Accounting - Financial Accounting.
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- Masters Degree in Business Administration or Accounting - Financial Accounting.
Knowledge
- Expert knowledge of finance, credit, commercial law, contract law, and relevant statutory requirements (e.g., Companies Act, National Credit Act).
- Expert financial management knowledge; financial management and accounting principles and standards.
- Expert credit principles and practices, including an understanding of credit application and securities.
- Commercial, business, credit, and financial principles and practices.
- Strategic planning principles and processes.
- Risk management principles and processes.
- Project management methods and practices.
- Relationship building and management techniques.
- Detailed knowledge of legal entities (companies, close corporations, sole proprietorships, etc.) in the Business Banking market and the legislative restrictions and requirements governing these from a financial services perspective.
