QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
At the Senior Lecturer level , an earned PhD is essential. The successful candidate will have a record of scholarship/teaching and be research active in Industrial Engineering and/or Engineering Management . S/he would conduct and supervise research at all levels. A record of substantial research funding would be advantageous. The successful candidate will have a proven record of interactions with industry and the profession. A National Research Foundation (NRF) rating would be advantageous.
At the Lecturer level , the successful candidate must have a Master's degree (by research or 50% coursework and 50% research) in Engineering and will be research active in Industrial Engineering and/or Engineering Management . S/he would conduct and supervise research at the Master's level. Evidence of having secured funding would be advantageous.
The successful candidate at either level will have an undergraduate degree in any branch of Engineering and the background to be able to be registered as a Professional Engineer, if not already registered in South Africa. Evidence of research activity in the Just Energy Transition, Water Resource Management or Digitalization will be an advantage. Likewise, teaching experience in Industrial Engineering Design will be advantageous.

Contributions towards excellence in research, education and professional services; academic leadership in the field of Industrial Engineering; undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing; research leadership and project supervision; active engagement with industrial partners; University administration.
