Purpose of Position
The Data Analyst will make recommendations on optimal methods of data visualisations and their execution to support effective decision making. This role involves analyzing and interpreting data to assist functional areas and is key in delivering the Data & Analytics vision throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in interpreting functional data analytics across areas to identify insightful trends and information for decision making.
- Gather analytics needs from functional areas and assist in delivering reporting and dashboard solutions within agreed timeframes.
- Identify new or improved reporting methods and techniques as required by the business.
- Work closely with system managers and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with the company systems strategy and delivery in accordance with the Data strategy.
- Support the overall Data strategy by assisting with key deliverables as per the strategic intent and within agreed timeframes.
Experience:
Experience Required:
- 2-3 years’ report writing experience, including preparing statistics and data visualisations relevant to the business function.
- 2-3 years’ data analysis experience, interpreting trends in the business and identifying opportunities or risks.
- 2-3 years’ experience working on PowerBI.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a retail environment.
Experience Preferred:
- 2-3 years’ experience working with BI tools (Qlik and Power BI).
Qualifications:
Qualifications Required:
- BSc in Computer Science or similar.
Preferred:
- Certification in Power BI.
Skills Required:
- Coordinating and persuasion skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in MS Office products.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence visualisation practices.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret business analytics needs into specification documents.
- Ability to identify trends using data.
- Ability to compile visualisations and reports reflecting relevant business KPIs.
- Ability to incorporate external data with internal data to draw conclusions.

- An understanding of SQL or similar coding/scripting techniques.
