Area Manager - National Clothing Retail Chain
National clothing retail chain is urgently looking for an Area Manager to manage the stores in the Western Cape from Vredenburg to Hermanus.
Duties & Responsibilities
Area Management has operational and financial responsibilities for a defined region. Their duties include:
- Recruiting, hiring, and training new managers in their direct area.
- Offering consultation and recommendations to store managers on overcoming operational challenges.
- Monitoring sales and working toward meeting quarterly objectives.
- Minimizing costs and labor by reviewing schedules and inventory use.
- Visiting stores to evaluate operations, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Conducting Opus Area Management Checklists on each store visit and resolving reported issues.
- Conducting supervised hanger counts and ensuring corrective stock management procedures are consistently followed.
- Reinforcing disciplines, procedures, protocols, and communication throughout all stores to increase sales, profit, and revenue.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of senior area management experience with positive references.
- Clear criminal record.
- 5 - 10 years of retail experience (preferably in the clothing sector) with a proven track record.
Package & Remuneration
- Basic Salary – R15,000 – R18,000.
- Reimbursement for petrol for pre-approved work-related travel to stores.
- Wear and tear on vehicle covered as a percentage on contribution.
- Accommodation and food covered for overnight trips.
Performance Incentives: You will be entitled to performance-based incentives effective after the first three months.
