The successful incumbent will be responsible for optimal financial performance and supporting business growth. This role requires a forward-thinking individual with strong business acumen, to provide insights and optimize allocation. Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Formulation, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and processes, financial targets and budgets
- Provide support to all areas of business, through system design and formulation
- Financial planning and advisory
- Control financial transactions, accounting matters and audit systems
- Oversee preparation of annual financial statements, BBBEE audits and facilitation of external audits
- Monitor compliance, including capital, hedging, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions
- Responsible for cash management, including operational and hedging
- Review financial reporting packs
- Responsible for stock control
- Calculation and management of operational and other costs
- Financial evaluation of potential acquisition and / or internal expansion opportunities
- Final approval of customer credit applications
- Regular review of hedging strategy
- Engage with customers and suppliers
- Negotiations with banks and insurance service providers
- Company risk reviews
Education:
- Qualified CA(SA) essential
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Completed SAICA articles
- 7 to 9 years post-articles experience in a senior level financial management role essential
- Manufacturing or FMCG industry experience essential
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience with hedge accounting preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports
- Good oral and written communication skills
