Job Purpose:
- Learning, Teaching and Assessment on undergraduate programmes in the Department of Public Administration and Governance.
- Research Supervision of master's and doctoral students.
- To contribute to curriculum development and design and curriculum renewal/improvement.
- To undertake research and innovation.
- To contribute to academic initiatives to enhance the learning, teaching and assessment environment.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- PhD qualification within the Public Administration/Public Management/Development Management field with at least 5 years learning, teaching and assessment experience in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Proven ability in teaching Research Methodology and supervising masters and doctoral students.
- Experience in tutoring, mentoring or other similar academic support to students.
- Knowledge and experience of the hybrid models of learning, teaching and assessment (face-to-face and online).
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
- Lecturing to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as research supervision of master's and doctoral students.
- Contributing toward academic initiatives undertaken by the department.
- Assessment and academic administration.
- Curriculum development and quality assurance.
- Building links with the industry, other training providers and all relevant stakeholders.
- Conducting research and supervising research projects in the Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma programmes.
- Strong learner focus and developing others.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good interpersonal and general management skills.
- Technical/professional knowledge and skills within the field of Public Administration/Public Management/Development Management.
- Planning and organising skills.
