As a Senior Salesperson at Traderoot Africa, a leading Fintech company, you will be at the forefront of driving revenue growth in line with our strategy, expanding our client base across the African Continent within the Fintech and related sectors. This role involves a high level of responsibility, where you will lead and assist with sales initiatives, nurture client relationships and contribute to the strategic growth of our Payments/Fintech products and services revenue. Your extensive experience and understanding of Payment products and services will be instrumental in achieving our sales goals and further establishing Traderoot as a prominent player in the Fintech/Payments industry across African markets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Sales strategy and execution
In conjunction with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), develop, maintain and execute on the comprehensive African Commercial strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets and Traderoot Africa’s African market expansion goals.
Identify and prioritise African target markets, industries and potential clients within the Fintech payment solutions space.
Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and deal closure ensuring alignment with commercial strategies and company objectives.
Ensure solid revenue growth across African markets.
Collaborate with CCO to ensure alignment of commercial initiatives with the Commercial strategy. - African Market Development
Conduct market research to identify opportunities and understand the competitive landscape within designated African markets.
Conduct in-depth competitor analysis in the relevant African markets to understand market share, strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Stay updated on competitor strategies and trends to refine market positioning. - Market analysis and Revenue Growth
Analyse market trends, customer needs and emerging opportunities in different African countries.
Develop and implement plans for each customer account, focusing on Africa market penetration and revenue growth.
Jointly with the CCO, set and achieve revenue targets for each African market segment in alignment with Commercial strategy. - Pipeline Building and Management
Develop and manage a robust pipeline, focusing on high-potential African markets and clients.
Identify and qualify leads, ensuring consistent flow of opportunities in the pipeline.
Use CRM to track progress, forecast sales and report on pipeline health. - Client relationship management and Stakeholder mapping
Identify and map key clients, stakeholders and decision-makers in various African markets.
Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, payment partners and stakeholders within the African continent.
Act as the primary point of contact for designated clients, addressing their needs, concerns and inquiries.
Ensure feedback to the product team on clients' needs as well as products that do not meet client’s satisfactory requirement levels.
Identification of new leads with regular follow-ups to ensure conversion of new leads.
Generate opportunities for cross-selling and upselling for product, delivery and managed service departments.
Collaborate with clients to understand their payment processing requirements and provide tailored solutions. - Market Positioning and CRM
Position the company as a leader in Fintech payment solutions across African markets.
Work closely with CCO and other internal teams to align marketing positioning efforts and identify new opportunities for product & service development.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through effective CRM practices. - Payment solutions expertise
Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Fintech payment solutions, including payment gateways, mobile wallets, POS systems and e-commerce platforms.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes affecting payment solutions in Africa. - Product positioning
Effectively communicate the unique value propositions of Traderoot's payment solutions to clients and prospective clients.
Customise product presentations and proposals to align with client needs and industry-specific requirements. - Sales team leadership
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior sales team members, offering guidance and support in their professional development.
Collaborate with other cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Product Development, Project Management to align with commercial strategy and with company objectives.
Drive a high-performance commercial culture within the team. - Sales reporting and analytics
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in CRM, client interactions, and progress towards sales targets.
Generate (at a minimum monthly) regular sales reports and analyses to evaluate performance and inform strategic decision-making.
Provide regular revenue forecasts and market insights. Present findings and recommendations to the CCO.
Use data-driven insights to refine sales plans and improve performance. - Negotiation and Deal Closing
Lead negotiations and close high-value deals with key clients and partners.
Develop and present compelling value propositions to prospective clients.
Ensure all deals are profitable and aligned with company’s pricing and revenue models.
Ensure all contractual agreements are aligned with company policies and legal requirements. - Compliance and risk management
Ensure that all sales activities comply with relevant Fintech industry regulations and standards.
Mitigate risk associated with payment processing and fraud by implementing best practices.
