As the successful incumbent you will have to develop and implement brand strategies that deliver both the sales and profitability objectives through leading and influencing support departments and project teams. Line Manager : Marketing Manager Job Specification: Key Performance Areas: Brand Financial Performance: Deliver the sales and profitability targets Manage Advertising and Promotion (A&P) expenditure to drive sales and brand image Correctly prioritise Brand (budgets) between brands to drive sales, profitability, growth in market share and initiatives Management of brands Profit and Loss (P&L) Brand Performance: Detailed tracking and reporting on the performance of brands Proactive cost and value engineering (including prompting of other departments, discontinuation of poor performers with appropriate run out plans) Monitoring of brand health and corrective action Drive consumer value Build and enhance brand positioning Identify and explore brand opportunities to enhance brand awareness and equity Provide innovative ideas to marketing communication strategy Innovation: Deliver product and promotional innovation that is commercially viable Remain abreast of market demands regarding product innovation Brand Management: Ensure the consistency of brand image, tonality and look-and-feel across all mediums including packaging, in-store, traditional above the line, Public Relations (PR) and digital Ensure brand differentiation across brand touch points Marketing Plans: Develop a detailed annual marketing plan that covers brand positioning, sales and promotional calendars, pricing strategy, brand spend and innovation Minimum Requirements: Experience: Minimum 3-5 years experience in a Brand / Product Development Manager role Qualifications: Grade 12 / NQF 4 plus a relevant marketing diploma 3 years marketing qualification would be advantageous Additional Requirements: The ability to construct and implement brand plans and marketing strategies Strong understanding in production development Analyse and interpret financials Understanding of different research techniques Microsoft Excel / Microsoft PowerPoint SAP working experience Project Management New Product Development
