Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Finance to lead the financial function of our small but growing company. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the financial strategy, managing the overall finance operations, and providing critical insights to support our business goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in financial management, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to drive efficiency and growth in a smaller, fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Strategic Financial Management:
- Develop and execute the financial strategy, aligning with the company's growth objectives and long-term vision.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic business decisions, risk management, and operational improvements.
- Financial Planning, Budgeting & Reporting:
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate and timely financial projections.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage and optimize cash flow, working capital, and overall liquidity to support business operations.
- Maintain and develop relationships with banking partners and financial institutions to ensure access to necessary funding.
- Operational & Financial Controls:
- Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and align finance goals with overall business objectives.
- Hands-On Finance Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial processing.
- Actively engage in problem-solving and support various business functions as needed, reflecting the "full function" finance role in a small company setting.
Qualifications & Skills Required: - Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA).
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, with a proven track record in financial management and leadership.
- Strong business acumen and experience in strategic planning within a small to medium-sized enterprise.
- Excellent understanding of financial and accounting principles, controls, and compliance.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a hands-on approach to operations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for driving results.
