As a Data Steward, you will be a critical part of implementing FNB’s information management strategy. Your role will focus on ensuring data integrity, security, and governance across the organization. Additionally, you will contribute to Data Science projects, using advanced analytical techniques to support business decisions.
Key responsibilities as a Data Steward:
- Data Governance & Quality Management: Implement data management practices that ensure high-quality, accurate, and consistent data across the organization. Lead efforts in metadata, master, and reference data management.
- Information Security & Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and secure handling of sensitive information in collaboration with legal and IT teams.
- Cost Optimization & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within data management frameworks to improve efficiency and prevent wastage.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to legislative, audit, and data governance policies while preparing detailed reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the organization’s data management strategy.
In addition to the above, the role will also entail some key Data Scientist responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Model Development: Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights that help drive business strategies. Build and refine advanced models to address key business challenges and optimize processes.
- Predictive Analytics & Optimization: Use predictive analytics techniques to anticipate future trends, identify opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. Continuously test and refine models for accuracy and relevance.
- Collaboration & Business Impact: Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into practical, data-driven solutions.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders, ensuring they understand and apply the findings.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualification: Relevant BSc or BCom degree (Honours preferred), with a focus on Information Systems, Data Science, or related fields.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in data management, governance, or data science.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively.
