About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will be primarily responsible for all aspects of the management of UK tax reporting and compliance, supported by the Tax Assistants. You will deliver a variety of tax returns in a timely and accurate manner across key taxes including VAT, SDLT, CIS and Corporation Tax.
You will support the Head of Tax in adhoc projects and support on any additional work required to meet business needs, this will include bringing innovative ideas to transform existing processes with a view to continuous improvement.
This role will be based in our London office (Convent Garden) 2/3 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remainder if required.
Key Duties include:
Analysis and co-ordination of data for tax purposes (mainly VAT, SDLT, CIS and CT)
Managing and mentoring two tax assistants
Review and preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns
Manage quarterly CT61 submissions
Review of SDLT calculations and returns
Tax accounting – tax provisions and reconciliation of tax accounts
Review and oversee preparation of CIS return
Review and oversee preparation PSA returns
Project work and technical research as necessary
Tax process improvement
Implement/maintain SAO regime
About you
Broad subject matter knowledge with focus on VAT, SDLT, CIS and CT tax gained from working in a similar tax role (in house or practice)
Experience in VAT, SDLT, CIS and CT are essential
Strong communication skills to engage and manage internal/external stakeholders
Organised with ability to multitask and prioritise workload
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and pride and commitment to the completion of timely and accurate work
Essential experience of working within a fast paced/dynamic industry to meet key objectives in a timely manner
Extensive tax accounting experience
Fully qualified tax or accounting professional preferred with substantial relevant experience.
