As a SAP Data Engineer in a consulting team, youll drive impactful data solutions for clients in banking, insurance, investment, media, and tech. This urgent, hands-on role requires a high level of technical proficiency to design, manage, and optimize complex data systems using SAP and related technologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Data Engineering & Management: Design and manage ETL processes and SAP HANA databases to ensure smooth data integration and movement.
- Data Warehousing & Compliance: Apply data warehousing principles (e.g., Kimball, Vault) and maintain data governance for accuracy and compliance.
- BOBJ Reporting: Create, maintain, and schedule reports in BusinessObjects (BOBJ), providing actionable insights through Web Intelligence and CMC.
- SQL & Database Optimization: Write complex SQL queries, manage database structures, and ensure high data quality and performance.
- Programming & Automation: Develop scripts (Python, Java, Shell) to automate data workflows and maintain efficient data pipelines.
- Collaboration & Agile Development: Work with cross-functional teams to meet data needs and contribute to agile project delivery.
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelors Degree - BCom, BSc, IT, or a related field (Degree is essential).
- Experience: Proven background in data engineering with a focus on SAP, ETL processes, and SQL.
- 5 years' experience minimum.
- Technical Skills:
- Database Technologies: SAP HANA, Web IDE, and experience with Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie, Impala) preferred.
- BOBJ Components: Proficiency in BusinessObjects, including report building, maintenance, scheduling, and publications.
- Scripting Languages: Experience with Python, Java, Shell scripting, or similar languages.
- Data Engineering Expertise: Strong understanding of structured data, metadata, and data quality principles.
- Agile Framework Experience: Experience in agile environments, enhancing data operations and supporting project delivery.
