Introduction
To develop, implement, control and revise/adjust all elements of merchandise planning to ensure profitability and sufficient servicing of stores.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning
- Production management
- Sales and financial budgeting
- Develop and implement Merchandise, Range, Stock and intake Planning
- Analysing sales performance, stock and planned availability
- Managing and developing Store Planner’s
Minimum Requirements:
- Preferably a relevant business diploma/degree (Retail business management/BCom/Clothing management/BScience/BA)
- 3-5 years planning experience
- Extensive Retail knowledge
- Technically strong merchandising skills
- High attention to detail
- Merchant and retail ability: demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the market place, competitors and customer needs
- Knowledge of business IT systems (including Forecasting and Replenishment, RMS etc)
- Knowledge of Product lead times to formulate a working critical path
- Ability to formulate strategies and implement shorter-term tactical plans that are cost-effective, efficient, and realistic
- Analytical and interpretative ability
- Business acumen: an understanding of basic business processes and how sales are generated and the ability to achieve these goals
- Computer literate: advanced Excel Skills and ability to operate in a Windows based environment
- Assertiveness and influencing ability
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Results driven and proactive
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment
