Purpose of the position:
The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the relevant silo.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the intake and dispatch of all grain, which could include the drying of grain;
- Stock control of operating stock and equipment;
- Managing, controlling and training of personnel;
- Managing and controlling storage facilities, which includes the optimal utilisation thereof;
- Thorough control of administrative functions;
- Operating a computerised mainframe administrative system; and
- Execution of instructions and policies regarding the following:
- Occupational safety
- Risk management
- Internal control systems; and
- Client satisfaction.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Five (5) years’ relevant experience
- Candidates must have completed courses in the following:
- Maize, wheat and sunflower grading
- Silo management
- Fumigation
- A valid driver's license.
- Detail-oriented.
- Responsible and reliable.
- Ability to take initiative and lead a team effectively.
- Good communication abilities.
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in an agricultural environment, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to oversee operations.
