Our client, a renowned global leader in the wine industry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join their team. Key Responsibilities:
Finance Department Management:
- Lead and mentor the Finance team (2 staff members) to ensure smooth operations and the development of team members.
- Manage and oversee the Creditors Clerk and Finance Assistant, ensuring efficient transaction processing and strong financial controls.
- Review and manage monthly creditor reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Approve monthly journals and cashbooks posted by the Finance Assistant, ensuring all entries are correct and in line with company policy.
- Review and approve bi-monthly wages, processed by the Finance Assistant, ensuring compliance with payroll policies and accuracy.
- Oversee and ensure effective Debtors Management, implementing processes to improve cash flow and collections.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare Foreign Currency Variance reports and ensure the accurate management of forex transactions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Handle Excise submissions in accordance with industry requirements.
- Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all assets are accurately accounted for and managed.
- Oversee full Budget Forecasts, Reporting, and Analysis to provide insights on financial performance and trends.
- Manage the relationship with the bank and ensure all compliance documents, agreements, and loan applications are processed and submitted.
- Verify and authorise payments, ensuring proper controls are in place.
- Manage monthly cash flow requirements, including handling ZAR and forex needs, and booking Foreign Exchange Contracts (FECs).
- Manage CAPEX projects, ensuring proper financial oversight and reporting.
- Prepare and review Monthly Sales & Management Accounts, including sales reconciliation, invoicing, reporting, and journal preparation.
- Compile and manage the monthly management accounting pack, providing clear and actionable insights to senior management.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and monthly departmental Profit & Loss statements.
- Conduct monthly analysis, including variance analysis on month-on-month and year-on-year performance, identifying key drivers of financial results.
Board & Financial Planning:
- Prepare Quarterly Board Accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Annual Royalties calculations and ensuring compliance with royalty agreements.
- Facilitate the year-end process, including full audit preparation, provisions, control accounts, stock adjustments, and biological asset costings.
- Oversee the Audit & Risk Committee, facilitating meetings and ensuring compliance with risk management policies.
Human Resources & Compliance:
- Oversee HR, payroll, pensions, and employment equity processes.
- Manage contracts and HR matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- Process payroll (monthly), including salary processing, identifying anomalies, monthly reconciliation, and journal preparation.
- Manage the Senior Management Scheme and ensure compliance with pension/provident fund contributions.
- Facilitate monthly and bi-annual SARS submissions, ensuring adherence to tax regulations.
- Oversee Pension/Provident calculations and monthly processing.
- Ensure compliance with Employment Equity management and processes.
- Facilitate the BEE Verification Certificate, ensuring all relevant documents are in order.
