Description
The primary function of this role is to implement the Private Bank Operations strategy (which supports the Private Banking strategy) and to lead the client servicing function for Private Bank Operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of end-to-end payment process for Private Banking, as well as the management of the Guarantees, Payments, Lending Administration and Records Management teams. The respective teams operate in a fast paced, pressurised environment where client experience is paramount.
Private Bank Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of Investec to provide banking operational services to our clients. Private Bank Operations also provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance Investec's assets and its reputation.
Duties, Responsibilities and Accountability
Ensure the smooth running of Client Services. Provide day-to-day leadership to the team leaders and overall pillar, to build and enhance high performing teams with a strong Investec culture and client focus. Provide input into and implement the Private Bank Operations strategy. Develop, implement and manage operational systems, processes and policies which are consistent with the innovative nature of banking services. Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Investec. Ensure there is a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate to identify opportunities to improve, with a focus on opportunities to automate mundane, repetitive processes. Work with the team leaders to design and implement the metrics to measure and review the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery. Analise and interpret trends and volumes to ensure optimized capacity for effective and dynamic service delivery. Provide regular dashboards on the performance of the various teams. Identify and escalate systems issues that affect client experience or introduce risk. Vendor management - manage relevant third-party service providers and ensure that agreed service levels are consistently met.
Qualifications
Financial and / or other related degree Sound understanding of operations Knowledge of Private Bank products, processing and workflow systems, will be advantageous 4-6 years of leadership experience (preferred)
