Daily monitoring of tunnels, crops and trials with regular feedback to management. Seedling production for trial planting and ensuring alignment with trial protocols. Preparing plant nutrient mixtures, managing irrigation and fertilisation schedules, and monitoring nutrient use efficiency for various crops according to specifications provided. Compiling fertiliser stock tanks and maintaining an inventory of fertilisers. Scouting crops for pest and diseases and applying pest control agents according to schedule and prevention / incident. Managing fertilizer and pesticide inventory, ensuring safe usage and compliance. Trellising and pruning crops according to specific requirements. Collecting production data. Quality assessment and grading products. General tidiness and safety of the greenhouse terrain. Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric with two years prior learning experience in hydroponics/horticulture/agronomy. Knowledge of production of greenhouse crops, including hydroponic production techniques. Knowledge of the safe application of pesticides. Good communication and reading skills (in at least Afrikaans and English). Good collaboration within the context of a team. Basic computer literacy. Independent. Reliable. Organised. Recommendations: A valid Code 08 or 10 drivers licence.
