Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Reporting to: Johannesburg Branch Manager
Expected Remuneration: Lucrative Basic Monthly Salary + Commission
Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience in sales is mandatory preferably in the energy/electrical/solar sector, selling commercial solutions with a successful track record.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is required; experience in solar and renewable energy solutions in a commercial sales context is an added advantage.
- Experience in market research, demonstrating ability to gather customer feedback and market information to drive sales strategy.
- Strong business development, networking, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to articulate complex issues in simple and clear terms to customers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and work with an interdisciplinary team supporting the commercial solar business.
- Presentable, confident & driven.
- Excellent Communicator & strong team player.
- Own Vehicle and valid driver’s license and willing to travel.
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
High-Level Job Description:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to secure new business and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory or market segment.
- Identify and prospect potential customers, including commercial businesses, wholesalers, developers, installers, contractors, government agencies, and residential clients, to generate new leads and build a robust pipeline within the region.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and competitors’ activities to tailor sales approaches and differentiate our renewable energy solutions.
- Negotiate proposals/contracts and close sales deals, ensuring that all terms and conditions are properly communicated and agreed upon.
- Compile quotes, invoices, statements, and any other documentation to complete projects, assist clients or complete a sale.
- Responsible for setting up face-to-face meetings to present and demonstrate our products and services to customers, highlighting their features, benefits, and value proposition in a persuasive manner.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports & provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and updates to the sales manager or relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineering, project management, and customer support, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in renewable energy, and share relevant information with customers to position our company as a trusted industry leader.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the customer base and enhance brand visibility.
Job Objectives:
- To consistently meet and exceed sales targets for renewable energy products and services.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new leads and opportunities to ensure a steady flow of sales opportunities.
- Ensure there is a relationship forged with every level that plays a role in the decision-making at the customer site.
- Continuously improve knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and competitive landscape to provide valuable insights to customers.
- Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the company’s mission, values, and commitment to sustainability.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project implementation.
- Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company through proactive sales efforts and business development initiatives.
