OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR – DURBAN
Manage daily operations of the branch by maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure smooth & efficient running of the branch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sales, administration and business processes at the store and highlight any deviation from this to line manager
- Management of staff requirements including approvals of overtime and incentives, disciplinary hearings and warning letters
- Planning and achieving sales targets and increasing of branch profits and turnover by coaching and guiding sales people
- Daily 1 on 1 with each sales person focused on customer requirements and how to improve service levels
- Daily operations status and planning meeting to ensure communication between sales, warehousing and production to ensure customers are serviced at the expected and communicated level
- Customer liaison and resolution of complaints
- Identify reasons for customer dissatisfaction and suggest improvement plans to line manager
- Maintain retail and wholesale price lists against group recommendation as highlighted by line manager
- Ensuring daily cycle counts are conducted
- Process all stock credit notes
- Investigate reason for stock credits and reduce number contributing to stock outs or incorrect item sold
- Sourcing stock as and when required from alternate suppliers
- Maintain fully functional showroom with a full range of samples on display
- Ensure all samples are labelled
- Ensure all signage and posters internal and external are current
- Enforce all SOP's across all departments
- Participate in the growth strategies to support overall business objectives and plans
- Weekly operations meeting with all key staff and supervisors
- Maintain opening, closing and security requirements for the store
- Monitoring CCTV and Alarm system after hours
- Maintaining of building and outside of the premises ensuring it is clean, neat and presentable to all customers
- Ensure cleanliness is maintained on all departments
- Ensuring all equipment is fully functional, serviced and tested
- Ensure vehicle checks are done daily and maintained by warehouse controller
- Conducting Daily, weekly and monthly branch admin checks as highlighted by finance
- Daily processing of day end posting ( cash up, cashbook batches etc.)
- Daily posting and maintenance of expense issues and confirm requirement is correct
- Ensuring production output is achieved according to group standard, if not achieved escalate to line manager
- Ensuring Cab fit department maintains stock levels to service demand.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Computer Literate in google apps, and MS office (excel, word)
- Ability to motivate staff and create a positive environment
- Experience in the woodworking industry
- Experience in a supervisor or management position
- Management of people - min 15 people
- Experience on an ERP system, preferably SAGE Evolution
- Experience in implementing operational processes
- Leadership and decision-making qualities and skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
Education and Qualification:
- Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
- Related tertiary qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
