This Position:
The Human Resources & Training Coordinator aids and facilitates the human resources and training processes. Assists with administration of employee benefit plans and payroll. This position assists in resolving benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resource Coordinator maintains records and provides technical support for end-users of CHELCO’s learning management system (LMS). Provides support to the human resources and training functions, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry, and training course preparation, evaluation, and clean-up. This is an on-site position.
HR & Training Coordinator Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a High School diploma (4+ years HR experience), an Associate's in a related field (2+ years HR experience), or a Bachelor’s in a related field (1+ year HR experience). Payroll experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Knowledge of employment law, compensation, recruitment, and training.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for training, compensation and benefits, legal and regulatory requirements, and human resources information and payroll systems.
- Foundational knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including document preparation, file and record management, and general office operations and terminology.
- Familiarity with computer software and various applications is also required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
- Must meet criteria to obtain access credentials for the U.S. government installations included in the Eglin AFB Utility Privatization contract.
- Must be available to perform duties for emergency response and storm restoration and be available for non-standard hours work.
Position Duties:
The HR & Training Coordinator performs the following duties (not all-inclusive):
- Administers benefits for active employees and their dependents, eligible retirees, and board members; includes, but is not limited to reconciling bills, distributing Summary Plan Descriptions and other documents, and working with employees to apply for and utilize their benefits.
- Process weekly payroll, to include maintaining employee information (deductions, taxes, garnishments, direct deposits, and support orders), reviewing earnings, processing payroll/financial reports.
- Administer Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Worker’s Comp claims.
