Candidate Requirements:

- Self-motivated, honest, and capable of working independently.
- At least 5 years of proven success in a relevant field.
- Proficient in all MS Office programs, with a preference for experience in Arcview.
- Minimum qualification: B-Tech in Nature Conservation. (Preference given to M-Tech applicants.)
- Oversee conservation efforts for animals and plants, focusing on ecology and population dynamics.
- Implement feeding programs for large herbivores and manage predator-prey dynamics in lion reserves.
- Develop security and anti-poaching programs.
- Facilitate education initiatives and conduct aerial game censuses.
- Ensure animal well-being during game capture.
- Manage eradication of alien plants and bush encroachment, including controlled burning and firebreaks.
- Ensure sustainable water use.
- Liaise with the Department of Environmental Affairs and other stakeholders.
- Represent the reserve in conservation organizations and local community forums.
- Previous NPO experience is a plus.
- Oversee maintenance of fences, roads, water systems, and waste management.
- Manage staff recruitment, leave rosters, and duty assignments.
- Conduct performance evaluations and handle disciplinary actions.
- Provide training and support staff well-being.
- Compile the annual budget and prepare progress reports.
- Maintain attendance registers and oversee fleet management.
- Manage equipment acquisition and financial accounts.
- Address the needs of various reserve users and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Experience in AGMs is a bonus.
