Role description
Core responsibilities – Manage all aspects related to the integrity and safety of the plant(s), as well as, but not limited to, take the lead in identifying opportunities for improvement in people, processes and assets, and the implementation of an appropriate asset management strategy.
Additional responsibilities:
Staff supervision and management,
Ensure all guarantees, and warranties are listed and filed electronically for each technical component or pump etc.
Supplier engagement and management, where required,
Testing, commissioning of technology and plants,
Ensure optimal functioning and availability of the plant(s) at all times, focussed on processing of FOGs (fats, oils and greases) or any other waste stream deemed to be of value,
Draw up of a planned maintenance programme and the effective execution, monitoring and recording thereof through audits, inspections, and assessments in respect of workmanship, compliance with standards, operating procedures, policies, and regulations,
Ensure that the maintenance personnel are efficiently skilled to ensure overall effective maintenance through selection, training, motivation, and development,
Implement and maintain safe working procedures, adhere to the Health and Safety plan and cultivate a safety conscious culture,
Lead incident investigations and set up corrective actions plans,
Ensure overall effectiveness of maintenance through the facilitation of failure analysis techniques, driving of corrective actions, identification of recurrent failures and the implementation of preventative actions,
Play a decisive role in the preparation of schedules and the supervision of projects and shutdowns,
Put in place site rules and regulations,
Oversee and lead installations on site,
Design and oversee any site civils works,
Establishment of standard operating procedures,
Ensure that the quality of maintenance is maintained and improved, where needed, to minimise unplanned downtime of key equipment and ensure compliance with regulations,
Plan and maintain the critical spares and equipment stocks,
Provide direction and input for the specifications of new equipment and conduct maintenance surveys together with the OEM for all new equipment before commissioning and establish the maintenance strategy and task lists to be adopted,
Ensure continuous improvement through research and investigation of the latest technology trends and proposal of implementation plans to incorporate these into the business.
To identify & list any technical faults, or risks,
To assist in the management of any sub-contractors, required for any work on any plants (always ensuring that directors are notified and informed of any financial decisions, technical decisions, or implications)
Project management and implementation of - Technical design of technology and plants, processes, hubs etc.
You will report to the Site Manager, unless otherwise required by the company.
The requirements are as follows:
Mechanical or electrical qualifications or completed courses is advantageous,
Must have own vehicle,
At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role and environment (manufacturing, piping, pumps, fitting, boilers, centrifuges, etc.),
Extensive experience in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a processing environment, preferably in waste and/or wastewater treatment,
Knowledge of implementing planned maintenance systems,
Must be able to lead and manage people,
Must be willing to work night and/or weekend shifts.
