A Homeware Technologist plays a crucial role in the Homeware industry, ensuring that homeware meets quality standards and results in ultimate customer satisfaction.
To support the Lead Technologist in ensuring the development and production of high-quality products by applying technical expertise in homeware construction, material properties, and industry standards. This role involves collaborating with technologists, buyers, and suppliers to address technical issues and maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Development and Approval:
- Provide technical support to buyers and suppliers as necessary.
- Manage the specific area’s sample approval process within SLA.
- Material (Fabric) Analysis:
- Input fabric testing outcomes to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction.
- Quality Control:
- Review failed inspection reports and manage final outcome discussions.
- Ensure import orders are released on the Shipping system.
- Supplier Relationship:
- Work closely with suppliers to communicate technical requirements and address any production challenges.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of sample performance, textile testing results, and quality control outcomes on TFG’s systems.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to drive innovation and improvement.
- Conduct Product Benchmarking as required by the Lead Technologist.
- Post Production:
- Regularly monitor the quality standards of delivered goods to stores, customer returns, and the quality standards of products within the stores of major competitors.
- Answer and follow up on customer complaints regarding quality and undertake relevant investigations as required.
- Manage the store merchandise returns process when technical input is required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in the retail or manufacturing environment.
- A relevant technical related qualification (Degree/Diploma).
- Keen interest in retail, apparel, and quality assurance.
