Commercial Manager/ National Sales Manager
Our shipping Client, based in Durban, is looking for a Commercial Manager/ National Sales Manager to join their team.
The successful incumbent's main objective will be to increase sales performance of agencies, identify all development opportunities and organise and manage sales teams to develop & improve client portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop commercial activities and assist in defining the commercial strategy in accordance with the objectives/targets set by the group.
- Set up, organise and drive sales teams to follow up on the customer portfolio and identify growth opportunities within the area.
- Set the objectives of local teams and monitor sales performance.
- Ensure the proper use of marketing tools by your teams.
- Identify competition and potential customers.
- Report weekly to the CCO/DRO and Head Office Lines/Commercial teams.
- Analyse market trends, potential additional revenues and volumes, providing recommendations where necessary.
- Conduct and participate in business studies for the potential development of services or lines along with the CCO/MD/DRO/HO.
- Represent the business interests of the company and develop direct relationships with major customers.
- Regularly accompany sales team during customer visits.
- Management of the commercial team nationally.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- A degree in a related field.
- Postgraduate degree will be beneficial.
- Extensive experience in a sales management position.
- Commercial experience in a maritime environment is essential.
