Introduction
Join our dynamic team as a Category Manager – Indirects in Procurement, where you'll play a pivotal role in strategically optimizing the procurement process within this category. This diverse category encompasses engineering, services, indirect commodities, and stock categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends and assess supplier capabilities, ensuring informed procurement decisions.
- Utilize data analytics tools to analyze procurement data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Category Strategies:
- Develop and implement robust, long-term category strategies aligned with overall Indirect strategy and business goals.
- Anticipate market shifts and adapt strategies accordingly, ensuring agility in response to changing conditions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align on category strategies and drive effective communication.
- Category Management:
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), driving favorable outcomes.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage product lifecycle and contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance and availability of high-quality products.
- Performance Management:
- Optimize product assortment and monitor key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to keep them informed of procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Minimum Requirements
- Post matric qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics/Procurement.
- CIPS Level 4 and above certification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement/supply chain experience, including managerial roles.
- Proficiency in MS Office, E1 (JDE)/SAP, Pastel, and P2P systems.
Demonstrates proficiency in customer interaction at Director/Managerial levels, excels in high-pressure environments with meticulous attention to detail. Solution-oriented with proactive initiative and accountability. Possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills, maintains a positive attitude, and approaches tasks with an analytical mindset. Proficient in negotiation and advanced Excel, with adaptability to dynamic, entrepreneurial settings.
