- Ensure overall budget control and compliance to financial governance rules in the Ironmaking and Materials Handling Departments.
- Maximising operating profit and cash flow while effectively managing cost.
- Ensure yearly budget preparation and compliance.
- Ensure sustainability by achievement of CAPEX budget on annual basis.
- Ensure effective stock management of raw materials.
- Take ownership of Business Improvement initiatives and commitment to targets in Iron Making and Materials Handling.
- Continuously optimising sustainable throughput by improving processes, quality, cost and efficiencies.
- Ensure sustainable output of products at minimum cost, with quality and service required by the customer.
- Manage the actions for continuous and sustainable improvement on throughput, efficiency, quality and cost.
- Take responsibility for agreed performance targets.
- Ensure roll-out of standardisation initiatives within Iron Making and Materials Handling.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicable B-Degree (NQF8).
- Understanding of the steel business.
- Technical and commercial acumen.
- Leading and managing large diverse teams.
- Understanding of SHE and other statutory, regulatory or policy requirements.
