Title: Night Manager
The Onyx Hotel, Cape Town
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures & SOPs are adhered to
- Carries out a detailed audit on the previous day’s business & verifies the revenue taken
- Verify Daily House Activity report & ensure that all arrivals have checked into the Hotel and that guest folios have been opened
- Produce emergency back-up reports which will enable the hotel to function manually if the computers are down
- Responsible for the security of the hotel at night
- Assist Front-office Manager, Duty Managers & Reception staff with the processing of all front desk procedures
- Assist Front-office Manager in maintaining good relations & good impressions of the hotel
- Check that all departures for the day have checked out or makes sure that they are checked in again when stays are extended
- Balances pre-lists received by Reception during the day
- Processes revenue allocation from all-inclusive Guest Bills to other departments
- Checks the Guest Folio Pits to ensure all dockets have been processed and allocated to the correct bill
- Ensures that guest bills are correct and have the correct documentation attached prior to the departure of the guest
- Closes down the point of sale equipment, which links F&B Sales outlets with the Front Office system in accordance with laid down procedures
- Prepares guest key audits and establishes if any keys for vacant rooms are missing
- Completes several other audits of rates, Food and Beverage Control, Laundry Charges and House Accounts
- Prepares an end of shift Hand Over for other departments
- Makes management aware of any irregularities found during the Night audit shift
- Be available to work extra hours if circumstances require
- Ensure that excellent customer service is delivered at all times
- Ensure safety of all guests and attend to issues promptly
- Any other duties that may be required

- OPERA experience essential
