Aon South Africa is recruiting a Branch Manager based in our Head offices in Sandton. The role of the Branch Manager is to ensure that revenue and profit targets for all areas represented in the branch are achieved.

What the day will look like
As part of the leadership team, responsible for contributing to and driving business strategy.
- Responsible for managing the branch.
- Overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operating of the branch.
- Responsible for leading and developing the day-to-day client relationship.
- Responsible for a portfolio of client accounts.
- Responsible for managing and coordinating all client account activities, including building a client profile of risks and needs analyses.
- Responsible for structuring insurance programs to meet client needs.
- Responsible for producing policy documentation, leading and contributing to renewal meetings and leading renewal fee negotiations.
- Responsible for maintaining and improving client satisfaction, retention revenue and profitability.
- Responsible for formulating a coherent client, market and remuneration strategy with brokers.
- Responsible for working with other business units (e.g. account executives, strategic account managers, brokers) to develop new business via cross selling strategies.
- Responsible for promoting and ensuring compliance with the client team and their clients.
- Work closely with the Regional Manager Inland and Retail divisional leaders in executing the teams strategy aligned to the Retail Business Plan.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Qualifications:
- Be in possession of Grade 12 (Matric).
- Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have an insurance related tertiary qualification.
- Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act.
- Must have passed the Key Individual Regulatory Exam.
- Must be registered as an associate with the IISA.
Knowledge:
- A comprehensive knowledge of the South African and international short-term insurance markets.
- An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals.
- A working knowledge of risk analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of risk management and insurance solutions across the full spectrum of business enterprises in South Africa.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations governing the industry.
Skills and Attributes:
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Well-developed leadership and management skills.
- Possess significant related experience (or equivalent).
- Ability to work effectively in and with teams.
- Have a proven track record in the provision of risk management and insurance solutions across the full spectrum of business enterprises in South Africa.
Experience:
- Have a minimum of 4 – 6 years managerial experience.
- Have a minimum of 10 – 15 years proven experience within the insurance industry.
- Have a proven track record in the provision of risk management and insurance solutions.
