Overview
• Responsible for all Mechanics, General Workers and workshop daily operations.
• Allocating jobs to all Mechanics, Mechanic Assistants, General Workers and managing their compliance,
performance, timelines and quality of workmanship in all job completions.
• Overseeing the job card completion process and certifying the correctness of all Mechanics’ job cards prior
to sign off.
• Diagnose, repair and service the Menzies fleet of GSE and vehicles in accordance with Menzies and
Manufacturers’ work specifications.
• Ensuring that the workshop’s housekeeping is properly maintained with tools accounted for and holds a
monthly Quality Compliance score of 98% without fail.
• Ensure that all necessary checks and inspections for all equipment and vehicles are carried out at the
required intervals and in accordance with Menzies quality and safety standards.
• Responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance as per schedule on company
fleet of ground support equipment and vehicles.
• Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
• Conduct ongoing risk assessments on equipment and its operations as well as ensuring that all safe
operating procedures are adhered to.
• Able to respond to out of hours call outs when required.
• Promoting and driving the MORSE ‘Safety First’ culture through all levels of the organization.
Candidate requirements
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of 7 years’ experience.
• Must have 3 years supervisory experience.
• Trade enrichment skills essential: Welding; Electro Hydraulics, Auto Electrical & Pneumatics.
• Knowledge of GSE, Heavy Goods Vehicles and Earth Moving Equipment will be an advantage.
• Ability to communicate & develop a good working relationship with various departments, airport authority
members and managers at all levels.
• A valid code 10 driver’s license.
• Computer literate and competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Have a strong leadership background and problem-solving ability.
