Job Description
This role requires an experienced Human Capital (HC) generalist to serve as a strategic business partner. A Senior HC Business Partner acts as an integrator along the complete HC value chain and is focused on partnering with business clients to translate the business strategy and people strategy into measurable plans aimed at achieving business objectives.
You will be required to provide strategic business partnering, advisory and support to the Enabling Functions of Group Finance; Group Risk, Compliance & Actuarial Oversight; and Group Internal Audit:
- Implementing strategic HC programmes and initiatives to address key business challenges and opportunities
- Managing the deployment of the HC Calendar cycle
- Serving as the practice lead for various HC practice areas, aligning with OML frameworks, policies, and practices
- Providing support, capability development, coaching and mentoring to HC and Line colleagues to raise the standard of HC practice across the Enabling Functions portfolio
- Leading HC Business Partners
- Maintaining an effective HC risk and controls environment
- Leveraging data and analytics to drive HC insights
People Strategy
- Provides input into the Enabling Functions People Strategy
- Works with leadership teams to define and implement the People Strategy and Plan for designated client areas in alignment with the Segment Business strategy
Strategic Initiatives, Advisory and Consulting
- Partners with leadership teams in client areas to advise on key people challenges and opportunities, and on how to drive for a high-performance culture
- Partners with line and relevant Group Human Capital Centres of Expertise to identify needs and conceptualise and deliver on appropriate HC interventions aimed at addressing challenges and opportunities for areas of responsibility
- Provides guidance, advisory and consulting to the designated client areas on how to respond to business transformation, change and culture shifts efficiently and effectively
Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Ensures full understanding, for self and designated client areas, of OML Group HC Policies, Governances and Practices, and manages for adherence to all HC controls to ensure an effective HC risk and controls environment
- Conducts required communications, change and learning exercises as required, for client areas, to ensure shared understanding of key policies, governances, and controls
- Supports key stakeholders with audit actions and risk assurance exercises as required
- Coaches line managers to manage Employee Relations risks proactively and responsibly
Operations
- Manages the deployment of the HC Calendar cycle and conducts post-exercise reviews to extract lessons and areas for improvement for future optimisation of planning, approaches and processes
- Provides consultation and advisory on key HC practices, including but not limited to Talent, Learning & Development, Organisational Effectiveness (Change, Culture and Workforce Planning and Organisational Design), Remuneration and Benefits, Employee Relations and Compliance
- Supports vacancy management, talent acquisition, selection and placement processes for client areas
Analytics and Insights
- Leverages data and reporting for areas of responsibility to identify patterns, trends and insights, and use to advise on critical people priorities
Stakeholder and People Management
- Develops and leverages professional networks within and outside the organisation
- Manages relationships with third party vendors and consultancies, where applicable
- Provides leadership, capability development, coaching and mentoring to HCBP’s to raise the standard of HC practice
- Raises awareness and capability amongst line managers and employees within areas of responsibility to increase adoption and utilisation of Workday by line managers
Role Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- The role requires a competent Human Capital professional with experience of shaping and driving a strategic human capital agenda and disciplined execution of both operational and strategic initiatives
- A relevant Human Capital or business-related qualification is required. A post-graduate qualification will be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ HC experience, with experience across the full spectrum of Human Capital practices, particularly talent and organisational effectiveness (change, culture, organisational development)
- Solid commercial and business acumen
- Strong affinity for data and analytics
- Experience with leveraging Workday
- Experience leading others directly as well as influencing and delivering indirectly through others (experience in a matrix organization, excellent relationship building, influencing and communication skills)
- Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced and challenging environment and being adaptable, open to change and ambiguity
- Ability to self-manage, with strong planning and organising skills, time management, personal accountability and results orientation
