Accountant (ATX Tax Software Specialist)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in ATX tax software to manage and prepare complex tax filings and financial statements for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of tax preparation, compliance, and accounting principles, and will leverage ATX tax software to optimize the accuracy and efficiency of our tax services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation and Filing:
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and LLCs using ATX tax software.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax forms, including quarterly and annual filings.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Generate financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
- Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations to minimize potential audit risks.
- Assist in analyzing financial data to identify tax savings and planning opportunities.
- Client Consultation:
- Provide tax advice and guidance to clients, addressing their questions and concerns regarding tax liabilities, deductions, credits, and tax planning strategies.
- Conduct reviews with clients to go over financial reports, tax planning, and areas for improvement.
- Data Management and Analysis:
- Maintain accurate records of tax documents, client information, and financial transactions.
- Utilize ATX software for data entry, data management, and reporting to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
- Collaboration and Team Support:
- Work closely with the accounting and finance team to ensure accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Support junior accountants and interns with ATX software training and tax preparation tasks.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in tax preparation and accounting, preferably with ATX tax software.
- Skills:
- Proficient in ATX tax software, as well as general accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Certifications (Preferred): CPA, EA, or similar tax-related credentials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individual and business tax returns across various sectors.
- Ability to provide strategic tax planning and consulting services.
- Knowledge of recent tax legislation and compliance standards.
