We are looking for a an Accounts Assistant/ Credit Controller to join a growing regional waste and recycling business.
This position is perfect for someone with a passion for numbers and a desire to support the financial operations of a thriving company.
The Role:
The Accounts Assistant will ensure timely and accurate sales invoicing, payment processing, and help resolve invoice queries. Alongside this, you will assist the accounts coordinator with other finance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily accounting tasks and financial records
- Generate invoices using Sage 50 based on vehicle hire timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Process and send authorised invoices and credit notes to customers.
- Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations
- Maintain organized financial filing systems and documentation
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes
- Resolve customer disputes/ queries in coordination with Operations.
- Chase late payments and raise potential concerns with Directors.
- Process supplier invoices and payments.
Key Skills Required:
- Our ideal applicant will have a background in accounting or finance, in an accounts assistant, sales ledger, or credit control role with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- You should possess strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft and accounting software ideally Microsoft Excel and Sage 50.
- Have a keen eye for detail.
- We are ideally looking to take on an AAT Level 3 or 4 student or QBE
- Happy to speak on the phone and you will be required to have a good telephone manner
- You will be required to be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
