Position Overview
The Semi Drycast Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the semi-dry casting area, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and team coordination. This role requires team leadership experience, and an aptitude for problem-solving in a manufacturing environment. Ideally with a knowledge of casting process
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Supervision:
- Supervise all semi-dry casting operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to optimise schedules, manage workflow, and maintain production targets.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot semi-dry casting equipment to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead a team of production operators, providing daily oversight, training, and support.
- Ensure adherence to work schedules, set performance goals, and conduct regular evaluations for team development.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process, performing regular checks to ensure adherence to company standards
- Address any product quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control department to address any recurring quality issues or necessary process improvements.
- Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, training, and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.
- Report and document any incidents, hazards, or violations as per company policy.
- Process Improvement:
- Work with the Operations Manager and other stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or 5S, to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
Experience in a production or manufacturing role, preferably within the semi-dry casting or concrete products industry.
Previous supervisory experience
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of semi-dry casting processes would be highly advantageous.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and product specifications.
Basic computer skills; familiarity with production software is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and lift materials as needed during the shift.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and variable temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Production Management or equivalent field.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Additional training or certification in workplace safety.
