Main Purpose:
Join a JSE-listed insurance company as an Underwriting Administrator to support the underwriting team in Personal and Commercial Lines in Short-term insurance. Assist with policy management, compliance, and provide administrative support to enhance operations. Ideal candidates must have strong academic credentials and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
•A-grade average in Matric (maths)
•BA, BSc or BCom degree
•Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
•Excellent academic record
•Strong mathematical skills
•RE5 certification
•2+ years admin experience in short-term insurance
•Experience in an underwriting department
•Proficient in insurance management systems and MS Office
•Strong knowledge of commercial and personal lines
•Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
•Team player
Duties:
Policy Administration
•Support underwriters with administrative tasks
•Process new policies, renewals, and cancellations
•Review applications for compliance
•Maintain policy records
Data Management
•Enter client and policy info accurately
•Gather documentation for underwriting reviews
•Keep records of policy changes and communications
Customer Service
•Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients
•Respond to inquiries about policies
•Follow up on outstanding documentation
Compliance & Reporting
•Ensure documentation meets standards
•Prepare and submit underwriting reports
•Monitor adherence to underwriting standards
