Senior Business Development Manager - Gauteng, Edenvale
Our client who is a Brokerage based in the East Rand, is seeking a talented and experienced Business Development Manager to lead and drive its Merger and Acquisition strategy, organic growth and cross-sell initiatives, and broader Group-wide strategic projects. The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker, highly motivated, and possess a deep understanding of the BROKERAGE / financial services industry (Short Term and Long Term Insurance Products).
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of the Company through acquisitions, partnership, and value-adding strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a comprehensive M&A strategy in alignment with the Company's growth objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify potential acquisition targets, strategic partners, and opportunities for expansion within the brokerage industry.
- Work with the team to conduct due diligence on target companies, including financial analysis, market assessment, and risk evaluation.
- Develop business cases and return-on-investment analyses to support decision-making.
Post M&A Integration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop integration plans for acquired companies, ensuring a seamless transition and realization of synergies.
- Track and measure the success of completed deals against predefined performance metrics.
Organic and Cross-Sell Strategy:
- Drive internal initiatives to expand share-of-wallet of the existing client base.
- Work with existing steering committee and partners to roll out Customer Relationship Management platforms for the Group.
Measure and monitor cross-sell activity within the Group.
Implementation of Other Group Strategic Initiatives:
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in BROKERAGE (short term insurance / health / employee benefits) / financial services.
- Proven experience in business development / M&A / corporate strategy ideal.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunities and execute on them.
- Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, business administration or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CA, CFA) are a plus.
