Business Development Manager
We’re accepting applications for the position of Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager represents the company’s client-facing brand and will be responsible for creating and driving effective sales management strategies to generate revenue; proactively identifying opportunities for business growth through new and renewed sales agreements; building and maintaining customer relations and brand loyalty; improving customer satisfaction; and successfully promoting products and solutions to optimize the businesses revenue and competitive advantage. The Business Development Manager will proactively contribute to the creation of engaging content for purposes of social media, advertisements, emails, and other relevant digital or printed media.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to expand our customer base in the procurement and supply chain sectors, focusing on both transactional and annuity revenue streams
- Establishing and driving the sales strategy to deliver sustainable business growth
- Implementing new and innovative sales and marketing techniques to support business objectives
- Applying knowledge of forensic investigations to identify and leverage business opportunities
- Maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients, focusing on upselling and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Identifying internal and external leads and business opportunities and pursuing through to conversion
- Identifying and fostering strong relationships with strategic clients, both new and existing
- Identifying and targeting new customers through strategic market segment focus, understanding the unique needs and challenges of each segment
- Presenting existing and new products to clients to grow business
- Managing and nurturing the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities and a robust sales forecast
- Remaining current with market demands, competitor analysis, and trends and proposing feasible opportunities to keep the business positioned as a market leader
- Developing, coaching, and managing a team of relevant resources to support the objectives of the department and business
- Regularly engaging the client base to understand and communicate back on user demand and customer experience
- Maintaining relationships with all internal stakeholders, ensuring that demand is effectively communicated for optimal product delivery and advancement
- Managing and creating engaging content for digital and print media, in support of sales efforts
- Driving revenue growth by developing and executing on strategies for both new business acquisition and upselling to existing clients
- Measuring and reporting on sales and marketing outcomes to increase efficiency and ROI
- Providing regular reports to senior management on pipeline status, sales results, and strategic initiative progress
- Preparing and analysing budgets, controlling expenditure, and ensuring that the sales team meets their quotas and goals
- Working closely with the procurement, supply chain, and forensic investigation teams to align business development strategies with company capabilities and market needs
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree or National Diploma in Marketing or Business Administration or Management
- Driver License with own reliable transport
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development role, with a focus on procurement and supply chain sectors
- Marketing experience would be preferred
- Proven expertise in forensic investigations and its application in business development
- Strong track record of managing both transactional and annuity revenue customer relationships
- Experience in upselling to existing customers and acquiring new customers through strategic market segmentation
- Advanced knowledge of business development, sales and marketing strategies, and brand expansion
- Experience with lead qualification at all levels within organizations – Managers, Directors, Executives
- Experience in generating and analyzing data and reports
