Our client is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Guide/Safari Manager to lead their safari team at their luxurious 5-star game lodge. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through expertly guided safaris, ensuring safety, and sharing your knowledge of wildlife and conservation. You will also manage and mentor a team of guides, coordinating all safari-related activities and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and conduct guided safari experiences, providing informative and engaging commentary.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of guests during all excursions.
- Manage the training and development of guiding staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Collaborate with other lodge departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Stay updated on wildlife trends and conservation efforts, enhancing the lodge’s educational offerings.
Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of experience as a safari guide, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Relevant qualifications, including FGASA NQF 4 certification (or equivalent) and first aid training.
- Strong knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for guest engagement.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and 4x4 driving experience.
