A rapidly expanding national business with clubs across Gauteng, Northwest, and the Western Cape is seeking dedicated and experienced Club Managers, particularly those with a background in tennis, badminton, or any other racket coaching experience, to oversee day-to-day operations and coaching. The role involves ensuring operational excellence, high levels of member satisfaction, and effective team management. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the Club Manager will play a critical role in driving the club's growth and success, managing everything from staff and facility maintenance to member engagement and local marketing initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in Sports Management, Business Management, or a related field (e.g. sports clubs, gyms, events or similar)
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Financial acumen and experience managing budgets
Racket sports experience is a plus, especially if coaching
Must have your own vehicle and be available at the club on-demand / on-call
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the club, ensuring all facilities are maintained to the highest standards
Manage the club’s schedule, including opening and closing procedures
Handle bookings and coordinate events
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Staff Management:
Lead and manage the club’s staff, including the Front of House Hosts and coaches
Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all club activities
Provide training, support, and performance evaluations for all club staff
Member Experience:
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and guests
Manage and respond to member inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Organize and oversee leagues, tournaments, and other member events
Basic Financial Management:
Manage the club’s budget, including expense tracking, revenue reporting, and inventory management
Oversee the pro-shop, including sales, stock levels, and product offerings
Marketing & Community Engagement:
Collaborate with the marketing team to execute local marketing strategies, including social media promotions and event marketing
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, sponsors, and community groups
Promote club activities and events to increase membership and engagement
Facility & Equipment Management:
Ensure that all courts, equipment, and facilities are well-maintained and in good working order
Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the club, including court surfaces, nets, and common areas
Coaching & Program Development:
Develop and oversee coaching programs and schedules
Provide coaching sessions as needed to members
Ensure high-quality coaching
