Main Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to assist in ensuring the smooth, profitable and proficient operation of the Cape Town panel division. To be committed to optimizing our processes,

Duties and Responsibilities
◼ Customer service focused.
◼ Liaise with the customer/consultants in terms of inquiries/tenders and technical requirements.
◼ Prepare written quotations, including cost calculations, data sheets and drawings.
◼ Negotiate orders.
◼ Ability to assist customers with a full mechanical and electrical design according to the customer’s technical requirements.
◼ Provide technical support to customers, sales engineers and other company branches.
◼ Liaising with the workshop foreman to ensure throughput of projects orders.
◼ Co-ordinate factory acceptance tests.
◼ Programming of company Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starters.
◼ Compiling and submission of data packs for all relevant project orders.
◼ Show the ability to monitor various projects.
◼ Management of permanent and contract staff.
◼ Monitor customers account status and notify the panel divisions administrator at once for customer accounts that are in suspense.
◼ Ensure all open sales orders and dispatch notes are kept under control. (invoice/cancel each one as soon as possible).
◼ Continuously improve internal systems and procedures.
◼ Share technical knowledge – formal and informal training.
◼ Monitor electrical assembly developments by competitors.
◼ Monitor engineering developments and new projects within the engineering sector.
◼ Continuous improvement of electric assemblies in terms of quality and cost.
◼ Customer visits and finding potential new customers.
◼ On site commissioning.
◼ Oversee quality control and health and safety.
◼ Monitor and complete KPI’s for division.
Qualifications and Experience
◼ Matric.
◼ Electrical/Mechanical qualification or electrical trade will be an advantage.
◼ Contract management experience.
◼ 10 years technical experience relaying to motor control panels and associated products.
◼ Computer literacy – MS Office word, Excel and Outlook, SYSPRO and draughting programs
Special Requirements
◼ A legal driver’s licence.
◼ Must able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
◼ Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications.
◼ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
◼ Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
◼ Ability to pay close attention to detail and co-ordinate various activities simultaneously.
◼ Ability to work well in a team setting.
◼ Must have excellent technical skills.
◼ Good telephone manner.
◼ The ability to work under pressure.
◼ A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job-related skills.
Working Conditions
◼ Predominantly office based.
◼ Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
◼ Position may require out of town travel.
