Job Description
MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:
1. Build effective relationships Build solid communication channel with Shop Steward Build solid communications with Line Managers Provide coaching and training where required to minimize conflict-generating behavior Provide a conduit between union and senior management to facilitate effective communication 2. Maintain appropriate workplace interface Host forum meetings Host monthly Union meetings
3 . Effectively deal with workplace conflict
Interface with union officials regarding matters of dispute Manage strike situations in accordance with legislation Liaise for legal opinion where necessary Coach and train managers as Disciplinary Hearing Chairpersons and ensure complaint methodology and application are used at all times Ensure the currency of the Disciplinary Code Provide monthly reporting on the status of Employment Relations Represent the company at CCMA / Bargaining Council when necessary Advise line management and staff in respect of grievance and disciplinary procures
4. Leadership
Manage the section within time and budget Plan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities for the function Develop, lead and maintain a motivated and high-performance team Identify and timeously address functional related problems and opportunities Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders Provide technical direction
Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards
Job Requirements
EDUCATION
· 3 Years Diploma or Degree in Human Resources
· At least 3-5 years experience in a related role
